The upcoming second season of the hit CBS action drama “Hawaii Five-0″ is set to premiere on Monday September 19 at 10/9c.

Hawaii Five-0 isn’t going to just ignore how it ended its first season—McGarrett and Kono facing consequences of their actions, even though the former is falsely accused—and the premiere will introduce a couple of new recurring characters.

“While McGarrett sits in prison awaiting trial for the murder of the governor, Danny brings him a surprise visitor to help clear him. Meanwhile, Kono is suspended for the force, pending an internal investigation.”

The title of the H50 season 2 premiere, “Ha’i'ole,” is Hawaiian for “Unbreakable,” and the episode features a number of guest stars. It’s Masi Oka’s first episode as a series regular as Dr. Max Bergman, and Larisa Oleynik will be returning in the recurring role of Jenna Kaye. Also returning to Hawaii Five-0 are James Marsters, recently cast for a Supernatural episode with fellow Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel alum Charisma Carpenter, as Victor Hesse, Mark Cacascos as Wo Fat, and William Sadler as John McGarrett. Meanwhile, a few new characters will be introduced as well. Terry O’Quinn will be recurring as Lt. Commander Joe White, who was McGarrett’s SEAL instructor, and Richard T. Jones will be making his first appearance as the new Governor (Wo Fat killed the previous one, and it was her murder that led to McGarrett being arrested).

Great news! TV Guide is reporting that Larisa Oleynik will return to “Hawaii Five-0″ for season 2!

Fans of Larisa Oleynik will also be happy to learn that the former Secret World of Alex Mack star will be returning in a recurring role in the show’s sophomore season. She’ll reprise her role as Jenna Kaye, the ex-CIA analyst who was instrumental in tracking down the villainous Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos) last season.

This announcement took forever, but I’m so glad that she is returning!

No official word on whether Larisa Oleynik is going to return to “Hawaii Five-O” for season 2, although I did find an article on Exisle that said that it is up to Larisa to decide whether she wants to return or not – and that she has until this Thursday!

Still a question mark is Larisa Oleynik. The actress, who played CIA analyst Jenna Kaye in three episodes last season, including the finale, has an option to become a regular in the second season. The option expires on Thursday, with no word on her status yet.

Let’s hope that she chooses to return, and that she does that soon!
